Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I get pricing for a custom project?
A: Because every project is custom made, pricing depends on the design, materials, and scope of work. The best way to get an estimate is to call 334-322-6118 or email RealWoodCustomDesigns@gmail.com to schedule a time to discuss your project and what you need.
Q: Can you build cabinets or custom pieces that other companies will not?
A: Yes. Custom problem-solving is a big part of what we do. If you have a unique space, a challenging design, or a project that seems difficult to build, we will work through the details and create a solution that fits your needs.
Q: Do you install the items you build?
A: We do not typically handle installation directly, but we work with a trusted installer and can provide their contact information once your project is finalized. For smaller items, we may be able to deliver and set them up if needed, and pickup is also available if that is more convenient.
Q: What types of real wood do you use?
A: We work with a wide range of wood species depending on your project and material availability. Common options include oak, pine, poplar, maple, walnut, mahogany, and cherry, and we are always happy to discuss other wood choices when available.
Q: Is everything you build made from solid real wood?
A: We use real wood materials throughout our work, including solid wood and quality plywood when it is the best choice for strength, stability, and durability. We do not use particle board or MDF.
Q: How long will my project take?
A: Project timelines vary based on the size of the job, current workload, material availability, and any custom details involved. Before work begins, we will discuss an expected timeline and do our best to complete your project as efficiently as possible without sacrificing quality.
Q: Why do you not charge cabinet pricing by the foot?
A: Because our work is fully custom, pricing is based on the materials, design, and labor required for your specific project. This approach allows us to price each job fairly based on what you actually need, rather than using a one-size-fits-all formula.
Q: If you built something similar for someone else, will my price be the same?
A: Not necessarily. Even if a project is similar, pricing can change based on material costs, design details, project size, and current market conditions. We will provide an estimate based on the specific details of your project.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept cash and checks. We also accept Venmo for credit card payments; a 3% processing fee applies.
